Early Ninteenth Century 11319

Rare early piece from Llanon.

Natural brown ( or natural dye ) wool with cream . Varying stripe in a twill weave .

The design/ stripe in this blanket  only appears clearly on the one side ,often seen in the earlier blankets , (various theories to this which we are happy to discuss )

Made on the nineteenth century narrow loom so joined up the middle .

Ends finished in a cream blanket stitch.

A must for any collection , but also a very usable textile.
