27th:
2pm - 4.30pm - 'Rag Rug Flower Brooch' with Sue Clow of Zalingai
Learn the basic rag rug techniques of hooking and prodding
whilst making a flower brooch.
This short workshop is an interesting and rewarding introduction to
rag rugging which also results in a satisfying finished piece
and teaches a decorative technique which can be applied in a variety
of ways.

9th and 10th: 10am - 4pm - 'Making
a Traditional Welsh Quilt' with Clare Claridge
Piece a replica of an antique quilt and learn to quilt
in the traditional Welsh way
(suitable for all levels: rotary cutting and fast piecing hand quilting)
17th - 'Rag Rugging 'with Sue
Clow
This workshop will include the basic techniques of hooking
and prodding, rug design and finishing,
and the use of a wide range of materials with great emphasis on recycling.
The aim of the workshop will be to make a sampler, picture frame or wall
hanging by experimenting freely with the techniques and materials

12th 'Textile
Techniques in Metal' with Julia Griffiths Jones
Julia's work is concerned with the translation of Textile
techniques such as stitching,quilting, patchwork,
embroidery into a wire and metal form: thus changing its original nature
and function but retaining the meaning and decoration.
This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn from her research
into wire working methods used by the Tinkers in Slovakia,
and create intricate surfaces with soft wire, which could be either two
or three dimensional.
Most materials and tools are provided, but please bring your own inspiration,
such as sketchbooks, drawings, your favourite fabrics, photographs of
fabrics etc.
